A New Opportunity for YOU!

Dear Encounter DC Year 1 Student,

We are so grateful for each of you and to see you stepping out, exercising the gifts that God has given you. Placing yourselves in environments where people are being touched and transformed by the Holy Spirit will help you nurture your faith and compassion for others.

We have two more exciting events coming up next month in collaboration with the JPII Shrine:

1. May 9 Transformation Night (6-9pm). This will focus on physical healing and is coming up quickly. We need a quick response from you to ensure we have enough greeters/ushers. Greeters can also serve as ushers. Greeters will be needed in the beginning to welcome people and give any directions or possible handouts. Ushers will serve during the ministry time to lead people to the proper prayer stations. 
   
   
2. May 23rd Transformation Day (9am-4pm). This event will be a preparation for the outpouring of Pentecost. Mass is scheduled for noon, then lunch and a talk, followed by praying for a deeper release of the Holy Spirit which will most likely occur at 2:00. We will need some greeters in the beginning and will need ushers for the ministry time, to lead people to each prayer station. Those ushering would need to arrive by 1:00 (though you are obviously welcome and encouraged to come for the full day if you can make it). Details are being developed but this should give you a basic idea of the event. Note, greeters can also stay the whole day and serve as ushers during the ministry time.

These opportunities are opportunities for greater intimacy with the Lord, chance to allow his heart of compassion to move you and inspire you as you greet and even quietly intercede for participants.

There will be a virtual planning meeting some time (likely a Wed or Thurs night) the week of May 9 to help everyone understand the logistics and flow of the event. A notice will be sent out to you with details sometime that week. Please do your best to attend if possible.
