Inner Healing Request
We are all wounded, whether it be from our own sin or that of others. In the same way our bodies often need to be healed, God desires that our soul be healed and made whole. He desires that we understand our true identity in Christ so that we can stand on that rather than falling to a distorted, and often very negative view of ourselves that disrupts that love, joy and freedom Christ came to give us.
What is involved in a session?
This healing involves an encounter with Jesus, allowing him to speak to us, to expose to us lies we may have embraced and to reveal truths that can dismantle those lies. Inner healing sessions are not psychotherapy or counseling. They are led by two Encounter School of Ministry graduates and/or leaders who will listen and help the individual to seek and listen to the Lord about the various issues they bring forward.
Inner healing sessions are typically 90 minutes in length and are done virtually over Google Meet (a link will be shared with you to access the meeting). In-person sessions may be possible but will restrict when sessions can take place and who on our team can meet as many on our team would need to drive about 1 hour to the meeting.
How to Start
If you would like to signup for an inner healing session, please do the following:
- Download the Inner Healing & Freedom Informed Consent Form, read it, sign and date it.
- Fill out the form below to give us an idea of why you are seeking inner healing and what dates/times you are available (please provide several date/time options). This will also setup an account for you where you can find the information about your session once it is setup.
- Once your account is setup, please enter your account and upload the Inner Healing & Freedom Informed Consent. You can either scan it in and upload from your computer or take a photo of the form and upload it from your phone. If you have issues, you can get it to Don James (if you are a student, you can give it to him at the school) at innerhealing@encounterschooldc.org
- After your inner healing session is over, we would appreciate it if you could login to your account and provide honest feedback to help us know what we are doing well and what could be improved.
Note: because these sessions involve encountering Jesus, to be fruitful they require a basic understanding of Christianity, a belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and an open heart that seeks to draw closer to Jesus.
